Khukh Serkh Mountain Range is situated between Khovd and Bayan-Ulgii province, to the southeast of Gurvan Tsast Mountain. This 50km long mountain range is a strictly protected area and the highest peak is Takhilt Mountain with 4019m height. A lot of rivers and creeks that feed Buyant River take source from Khukh Serkh Mountain and there is a locally known spring called Khara Jarykh Tas. The mountain is a home to ibex, argali sheep, snow leopard, snowcock, vulture and bearded vulture. Also, the lakes and rivers in the area are rich with northern pike.
