Erdenet City itself is a result of the friendship between the USSR and Mongolian People’s Republic. It was built with the soviet help and finance, so a monument commemorating the relationship between the two country is a given. You can see a lot of statues and monuments that are dedicated to the friendship between, now, Russia and Mongolia throughout the country but especially the Erdenet City is the peak of the example. And because of that, there are several murals and statues heavily influenced by the Soviet Union such as the Karl Marx mural and the Lenin mural. The friendship monument in Erdenet City is erected in 1986 during a conference between the younger generations of USSR and Mongolian People’s Republic.
