Chandmani Mountain Monuments in Uvs

Located in Ulaangom soum of Uvs province, inside the Ulaangom town, Chandmani Mountain is full of historic monuments and burial mounds. The site was discovered by construction workers in 1972 when they dug up a burial mound with a wooden fence. Burials and monuments from both the Bronze and Iron Age found from Chandmani Mountain. There are several types of burial mounds varying between a bigger stone grave, a stone grave with no coffin, a grave with smaller stone coffin and a dirt grave with wooden burial chamber. A lot of tools for horse and other domesticated animals found from the graves as well as bronze mirrors wrapped in felt or cloth.
