Situated 50km to the north of Khermen Tsav, Bugiin Tsav is a place where you can see what it was like 80-150 million years ago. The dinosaur fossils found in the area made Bugiin Tsav famous around the world. Not only dinosaurs but fish, turtles and Mollusca fossils can be found to tell their stories of how they roamed the land before time. The most famous finding is the skeleton of Tarbosaurus which is a carnivorous dinosaur from the late Cretaceous Period. This invaluable finding is being exhibited at the Central Museum of Dinosaurs in Ulaanbaatar City. Bugiin Tsav has become a state protected area and a part of the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan national park.
